    A pool Emojimembership meeting was held last Wednesday at the Clubhouse.  Attached are the Emoji notes from the meeting.  I will forward the pool registration as soon as I can.  The pool needs you and your friends!!  Please spread the word!!  

    Here is some information from the award winning Aquaknight Swim EmojiTeam:  
     Aquaknight & MiniKnight registrations are now open. MiniKnight registration is first come first serve basis. If necessary, a waitlist will be created based on the date/time of registration. We are going to be using TeamSnap this season to help with communication, scheduling, and volunteering. Once you have registered, you will get an invitation to the TeamSnap app. Parent meeting is scheduled for  7pmTuesday May 26, 2026.


    The Pool, grounds and snack bar clean Emojiup schedule will be posted as soon as I know about it!  Please try to donate a littleEmoji time, it is much appreciated and needed!  

    The Council is having a fundraiser on Monday, April 27th at Tampico Grill in Laurel, MD.  Please see the attached flyer.  Their website is Tampico Grill


    Saturday nights’ continue with Bar EmojiEmojiBingo and Queen Emojiof EmojiHearts starts at 7:30 – check it out!

    The LadiesEmoji of the Knights is having a Spring YardEmoji Sale on Saturday, Mary 2nd.  Please see attached flyer.  

    The Clubhouse is having a summer Emojishuffleboard league on Thursday nights, starting June 4th and ending July 30th.  The cost will be $40 per person, with a crab Emojipicnic for players at the end of the season.  (a date will be voted on by the players).  A sign up sheet will be in the shuffleboard room this weekend. Substitutions will be allowed, but only twice.  Any questions?  email me back or text Mary Fran at 301-335-3106.  NO EXPERIENCE necessary!  Just be prepared for a fun time!

    Hello there Emoji  everybody!  I hope you had a fantasticEmoji weekend!  The weather is beautiful Emojiand really has me thinking Emojiabout the summer and THE Emoji POOL!!  Can’t Emoji wait!!  Speaking of that, there is a swimming poolEmoji meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) night at 7:00 pm.  ALL pool Emojimembers are invited and encouragedEmojiEmoji to participate!  Ideas, solutions, etc. is what’s needed!  THANK YOU!!   SeeEmoji you at the Clubhouse!  

    Oh – and have you seen the pool Emoji lately?  It’s LOOKING EmojiGOOD!  Big thanks to Tim and EmojiSusan Keifline and to everyone’s friend “Boots” for preparing the pool Emojifor the season – CAN’TEmoji WAIT!  

    It’s playoff season for the Shuffleboard League!  Top 8 teams from each night will play Tuesday and Thursday evening.  The awards banquet is set for Friday, June 5th.  Good luck to “Oh Puck It” – oops, I mean everyone!  Emoji

    Tonight might be a fabulous evening to enjoy a nice cold Emojidrink and sandwich on the deck!  Come on out!

    Hello everyone!  I hope you had a Hoppy Emoji Easter!    The weatherEmojiEmoji wasn’t too great, but it’s always wonderful Emoji to be around family and friends.  

    Tomorrow night (Tuesday) if the first Tuesday of the month………….so that means it’s LIVEEmoji TRIVIA!!  yay!  The fun starts at 7:00 pm and the kitchenEmoji will be open too! Grab a (smart) friendEmoji or two and come on up!  The winning Emoji team receives a $25 Clubhouse gift certificate!  

    The Shuffleboard League is closing in……..playoffs start in another week.  The banquet is set for Friday, June 5th.  

    BigEmoji thanks to Joe Scafone and Mary Fran Lintner who reupholstered some of the bar stools in the Clubhouse that were looking a bit frayed!  They’re going to paint Emoji the  stools on the deck next……………..right Joe?  lol

    We were sorry to hear of the passing of Brad Morris last week.  Brad was a member of 2809 and played softball for years and an all around fun guy!  Please keep him and his family in your prayers.  We understand there will be a celebration of his life in June.  Once we hear, we will pass it on!

    Hello  Emoji there everybody!  Gettin’ a little Spring Emoji Fever?!!   Me too!    

    I would expect soon that we will be adding Emoji dates for the Grove  Emoji and Pool Emoji clean-up weekends.  Just an Emoji hour or two will make a big Emoji  difference!  So start working on your Emojihome now so you’ll have time to help out later!  lol   did I just Emoji say that??!!  

    Kid’s Summer Emoji Camp is just around the corner!  And remember the award  Emoji winning Aquaknight  Emoji Swim Team too!  Here is camp information:  

    The Shuffleboard League is winding down, only about a month left, including playoffs.  Stop on by either a Tuesday or Thursday night and check Emoji it out!

    Shuffleboard continues on Tuesday and Thursday night, drop in darts Emoji on Thursday and Bar EmojiEmojiEmojiBingo / Queen Emojiof EmojiHearts on Saturdays.  The Clubhouse is a perfect stop on the way home from kids practice EmojiEmojiEmojiEmojior games, maybe you want to catch up with some friends Emojiyou haven’t seen in a while, stop by!  Opens Tuesday – Friday at 4:00 pm and Saturday at 5:00 pm.    
    We have a few Emojisquares left for the NCAA tournament – please stop by tonight!  
    The Clubhouse needs a Emoji little help 2 – 3 nights a month in theEmojiEmoji kitchen.  Fantastic way to help out, gets you out of the house, and it’s a super fun Emojicrew to work with!  And you might even make some pocket change!  Have questions?  Please see your friendly bartender!  
    Yesterday we said good bye to Mr. Walter Bohorfoush, affectionally known as “Mr. B”.   Mr. B played shuffleboard for many years, and you could usually find him on Friday nights having dinner with his family.  He and his late wife Barbara raised 4 children at the pool, Walter Jr., Ada, Robert and John.  All are Aquaknight alumni, with Mr. B being a timekeeper while his wife took the stats.   Please keep the family in your prayers, Mr. B will be sorely missed.

    THANK Emoji YOU to everyone that came out for the “Ladies EmojiEmojiEmojitake over” of the Clubhouse last Saturday!  It was super fun, the special steak n cheeses were succulent, the margarita’s magnificent, but the company?  The BEST!   THANK YOU to Stacey Foley and Krista for pouring Emoji the drinks, to Janet Alessandrini, Mary Robey, Kate Monagan, Sandra Hudson and June Kelly (with some help from PGK John Foley) in the Emoji kitchen, and THANK YOU to everyone who donated the delicious Emoji baked goods!  Teresa Gorman collected over $100 Emoji dollars selling the amazing pies, sponge cake, brownies and cookies!  Carolyn Lank collected $250 in 50/50 money!  AND the Emojiladies received $400 in Emoji TIPS!!!  THANK YOU SO MUCH for your generosity,  all the money collected will go towards the Ladies Emoji fundraising efforts to charities such as Coats for kids, Sacred Heart Home, etc.  

    TODAY (Tuesday) is TACOEmoji TUESDAY!  Only $1.50 per Taco, chicken Emojior beef Emoji plus chips and a fixin’s bar!  Kitchen opens at 6:00 pm.

    Saint Emoji Patrick’s Day Emoji is Tuesday, March Emoji17th.  The Clubhouse will have food Emoji and drink Emoji specials, hoping you can stop by to Emoji celebrate!   
    Here we are in March, and it’s that time to figure out what you’re going to do with those Emoji kids this summer!  As you may know, we have a summer camp here!  Please log onto Knights of Columbus Day Camp for all information. 

    The DeMatha Lacrosse team is holding its annual mulch fundraiser and is currently taking preorders. Orders are due March 11th and will be delivered/stacked on March 21st. Luke Foley, a sophomore at DeMatha, is on the team, so make sure you enter his name on the form. You may recognize Luke as a bushy haired teenager, who can frequently be seen at the club house or pool, carrying around a lacrosse stick or eating chicken wings.

    It is very sad and shocking to announce that Julie Fernandez Little passed away last week.  Julie has been a huge supporter of Council 2809 forever.  Her family was members of the pool when it opened, and Julie’s Dad, Joe, was the Red Cross Blood Donor Chairman for years, and who the banquet room is dedicated to.   Julie was the scorekeeper for the Holy Redeemer Softball Team and her husband Rich played for Our Lady of Sorrows.  (Currently, Rich is in the snack bar on Sundays.)   Julie loved her Friday night dinner family, where they gathered every Friday night at the Clubhouse for food and camaraderie.   Julie participated in water aerobics or anything else that was active and fun!   She always greeted you with a hug and asked you how you were doing or what was new.   Julie will be extremely missed and we ask for prayers for Rich and her family.  Julie E Little Obituary March 2, 2026 – Donald V.     The Ladies Emoji Auxiliary is TAKING OVER Saturday night with Steak n Cheese specials, drink Emoji specials and lots of Emojisocializing!  Bar Bingo, Queen of  EmojiHearts too!  The Clubhouse opens at 5:00 pm.  Please see attached flyer for all information.  

    Thanks to everyone who came out to play LIVE EmojiTrivia, always such a great time, and thanks to Teresa Gorman for being the Emojihost every month!  Family fun LIVE Trivia is the FIRSTEmoji TUESDAY of every month starting at 7:00 pm.

    The Clubhouse is Emojilooking for someone who’s interested donating a little time, 1, 2 or 3 nights a month as a short order cook, Emojifree training!  Hours are roughly 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.   It’s a fun Emojigroup to work with and an impactful way to bring new ideas to the Clubhouse!  Interested, or just haveEmoji questions?  Please chat with any of our friendly bartenders.

    Speaking of March, the Clubhouse will have their annual super funEmoji St. Paddy’s Day party Emoji on Sunday, March 15th,  Please see the attached flyer, we hope to see you there, bring your friends!  
    The EmojiBread for Our Brothers ministry that the Council has sponsored for more than 25 years needs additional drivers for the program to continue. Work involves picking up boxes of donated bread from Bakery DeFrance in Rockville and delivering them to 2 or 3 specific charities in the District or suburban Maryland. Time commitment is 3 hours once or twice per month on either a Tuesday or Wednesday. This ministry is not restricted to KofC members only, and any family members or friends who might be willing to participate are welcome. For information, call Brother Dennis O’Malley at 301-328-7500.
