Since I couldn’t believe how fast September flew by, I forgot to congratulate our September Knight of the Month – PGK Doug Amann, and the Family of the Month – Joseph and Joyce Cooper and their adorable kids! The October Knight of the Month is PGK David Alessandrini and the Family of the Month is siblings Trey and Kayla Bohorfoush. The Woman of the Month is Janet Alessandrini.BIG THANK YOU to all of you for donating your time and energy in making sure this Council is full of activities and fun for the whole family! THANK YOU SO MUCH! Council 2809 Annual Mustang Car Show is this Saturday in the Clubhouse parking lot from 9:00 – 3:00 . Grab the kids and check it out! Please see the attached flyer with information about the Trick or Trunk on October 28th! Trunk or Treat Saturday, October 28th12pm – 3pmFood will be served at Noon with Trunk or Treat to followWe are looking for cars to participate and hand out candy as well
The Friday night dinner special is Spaghetti with meatball and garlic bread with dessert all for $15. Please pre-order here: https://tinyurl.com/vkzcdm4h The Ladies Auxiliary will be donating “Boxes of Joy” to children in third world countries. This program is run by Cross Catholic Outreach. These boxes will be filled with $10-$15 worth of gifts (can be purchased from the Dollar Store) for a child in a third world country. Items to include could be: small toys/stuffed animal/games/hard candy or gum (No Chocolate or Jolly Ranchers), school supplies like pencils/crayons/stickers/notebooks, apparel like socks/underwear/hats/flip flops, accessories like sunglasses/jewelry/hair accessories/cross or rosary and useful items such as sewing kit/led flashlight or drawstring bag. In order to ship these boxes, we also ask for $10 to cover the cost. This whole box will be about $20-$30 in total, including the $10 shipping cost. Three ways to give: Fill your own box with items (list below); Monetary donation to cover cost of shipping for boxes; individual items from the list. There will be a box in the clubhouse to accept donations. All donations are due by Sunday, October 15th.Please contact Janet Alessandrini, jalessan@umd.edu, 301.332.0385 with any questions. Bar Bingo Saturday – have you played? super fun, give it a try! Commanders play the Falcons Sunday at 1:00 pm. The Clubhouse will have drink and food specials, come on up!
