It is with a heavy heart to inform you of the passing of PGK Raymond Scianella.  Mr. Scianella was the Grand Knight from 1967 – 1968, but he did so much more than that for our Council.  Many times you could find him on his back, paint brush in hand, painting the “springy” animals in the kiddie section of the grove, behind the sandbox.  Or sitting in the “cage’ checking that all the members’ had their swim pool patch.  If I remember correctly, he was on just about every board there was at one time or another.  As the oldest living PGK he was a bit of historian too – remembering parties and crab feasts at the “lodge”  on Route One.  He took the charge in transporting the old bar from Route One to the Clubhouse.  Stories of when the  pool was built in the 60’s, and then the construction of the current Clubhouse on Cherry Hill Rd.  One time he was locked downstairs of the Clubhouse because he was counting the money after one of the Super Bowl parties.  Keys upstairs, and pre-cell phone era.   Mr. Scianella leaves behind is wife Judy, daughters Lisa,  Laura and her husband Pat Welsh and his son Ray Ray  It’s really too hot to do much else, so I hope to see you at the pool!
