| | | Hello there everybody! It’s May – YAY! We’re getting a little closer to Fun in the Sun!! Just think, in a coupla more weeks there will be burger grillin’, people chillin’, softball swingin’, kickball kickin’ (hopefully) and lots of splashin’! CAN’T WAIT! How about you? Do you have your membership? If not, please see the attached form. I know you know that it takes a village….practically for everything – but especially to get the pool / grounds and snack bar ready for all this fun we’re gonna have! If possible, please set a side a few hours to donate this Saturday. See the flyer for all the information. Flower and plants needed too, for the pool and grove grounds, and the Clubhouse deck. THANK YOU!! Congratulations to the Knight of the Month – PGK2 Matt O’Hare and to the Family of the Month – Mike and Colleen Smith and their kids, Patrick and Bridget. And congratulations to the Woman of the Month – Mable Godouy! HUGE BIG THANK YOU for all that you do for our Council! This “Happenings” email is just a snippet of stuff and events – if you ever want more to read, or better detail, please go to http://www.kofc2809.org.for the KnightCap. Congratulations to Chris Milhorn and Billy Melgar who won the Tuesday night shuffleboard league and to Marie Bohorfoush and Rich Little who were the Thursday night winners! These two fierce teams will face each other Thursday evening for the Championship games! Come on up and cheer your favorite team! Saturday is the Kentucky Derby and we’ve got the horses – and drinks! Stop by sometime this week to purchase (after 4:00 pm) your horse and then come on up Saturday, with your favorite hat, and root your horse on! Drink specials throughout the evening. Clubhouse opens at 5:00 pm. Kitchen will open at 6:00 pm. giddy – up! You might as well stay for Bar Bingo and the Queen of Hearts – these fun games will start at 7:30! 50/50 too! Blood Drive Monday, May 6th.
Duckworth Regional School’s Challenge Day is Friday, May 10th and our Council has always given a helping hand. If you have time to donate for this worthy event, please contact GK Paul Wood at 202-269-9583. Tomorrow is the final day for the May SHARE program. Please see the attachment. I can’t think of much else. I hope you’re having a great week and I hope we see you soon!
