The Shuffleboard league has teams competing on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The Tony M Tournament is set for Saturday, February 26th. This Tournament gives bragging rights to the “best” night – GO THURSDAY!! hahaha The Clubhouse hosts a virtual trivia night every Tuesday starting at 7:00 pm. Instead of individual teams we play as one, try it! Every Thursday evening the Clubhouse has “drop-in” soft tip dart games. Lots of fun, kitchen is open, and it gets you out of the house for a while! Saturday evenings starting at 7:30 is Bar Bingo! What is Bar Bingo? Well, it’s kind of like Bingo, but with playing cards. Each round is $5 with the winner taking all! It’s exciting!
The Friday night dinner special is Peel and Eat Shrimp with hushpuppies and a surprise dessert. 1/2 lb $8 and $15 for a lb. YUM! They will be playing from 7:00 – 10:00 pm. No admittance fee, but we will be “passing the hat” they play timeless Americana with a flair for pop. Entertaining cover band from 70’s to today. check them out!
Sunday is the SUPER BOWL! The Clubhouse will open at 1:00 pm and the kitchen opens at 4:00 pm. Please see the attached spectacular menu! Stop by to pick up your numbers, or to get on some pools. You need something to root for!
Monday, February 14th is Valentine’s Day and our Red Cross Blood Drive. Starts at 1:30 pm. The Red Cross is tragically low on blood, won’t you please consider donating? And speaking of Valentine’s Day……..tell her you would marry her all over again and join our Wedding Vow Renewal Mass on Sunday, February 20th at 2:00 pm. Please see the attached flyer.
Polar Bear Plunge News: The date of the Maryland Polar Bear Plunge has been rescheduled for the end of March. Super Plungers will participate in the 24 hour plunge March 18-19. 2809’s own Bryan Adamczyk will be participating for the third straight year, along with his Special Olympics Maryland athlete, Lori. While Bryan has been actively fundraising, donations have been harder to get this year. The fundraising minimum for Super Plungers is $10,000. With the help of the .1K and Mustang car show, Bryan is about halfway there, but more help is needed. The State had an idea to help these Super Plungers, ask each council member to donate $2 to the cause. What an easy, affordable way to show your support.
