Happenings 06.06.23

| | | | Hello there everybody!  I hope all is well with you and your family and friends!  So what’s been “happening”??  Well……….the pool is open, the men’s softball league has started, the Aquaknights have started practicing,  and shuffleboard has ended .   The Friday night dinner specials will continue through summer.Speaking of that – this Friday dinner special is Crab cake with roasted potatoes, a vegetable and dessert for $20!  It’s a huge fan favorite, so you should pre-order here:  https://tinyurl.com/3f578zys   Saturday the 10th is Family Movie Night sponsored by the Ladies of the Knights   Please see the attached flyer for all the details. Next Tuesday is TaCo Tuesday!  $1.50 each taco with a fixings bar and chips!  Soft or hard shell.  Starts at 6:00 pm.  The Aqua Knights Swim Team is having a FUNdraiser at Mama Lucia’s on Thursday, June 15th.  Please see the attached flyer and THANK YOU!  We have a request from the summer camp:  they are in need of toilet paper rolls!  We will have a drop-off box in the Clubhouse and you can place your empty toilet paper rolls in the box.  THANK YOU!!    I’ve attached a camp registration form too, just in case you need it!  We heard that former Aquaknight Coach and camp counselor, Tommy George got married!  Congratulations Tommy!  Tuesday nights during the summer will be drop-in shuffleboard time!  Perfect opportunity to work on your skills, or just learn the game!  We play a version called horse collar, and your teammate is on the same side as you.  The banquet was held last Friday and the players enjoyed some delish food from Mission BBQ and Doug and Nannette Amann were crowned the Champions!  A few players had to wear egg heads for not scoring in a game haha, very fun.  I hope to see everyone back next year and maybe some more players!  Thinking about it?  Stop in on a Tuesday evening!  It’s a fun date night!   We received some sad news last week that Willie Lyons, from Dungarvan Ireland, and Burtonsville, Md. has passed away.  Willie leaves behind his wife Gerri and he is the grandfather of our bartender Kelly (who just had her baby Emma), and father of Sharon Shaffer (former shuffleboard player and wife of the late Ronnie Shaffer), and the late Kathleen Gaffney (former dart player).  Willie always had the best stories!  I loved hearing the excitement in his voice about the racing pigeons, and his adventures with his fun wife Gerri and their lovely family.  Willie will be sorely missed.  That’s all I have for now, have a great week and I hope to see you!   Oh – don’t forget to check out the Strawberry Moon / Sun?  this week!  lol KofC Clubhouse kofcclub@aol.com | | |
